I love this work because it is universal in meaning. Children, lover, family. Anyone may bring these moments of clarity to our day. I have been gifted joy, peace, inspiration and magic from my children, a soulmate, and when caring for loved ones as they approach the final days on this earth. Enjoy…and spend a moment thinking about the ones in your life that bring these moments to you.
The Beauty of You
This morning I heard your laughter. The sound caressed my soul. I smiled because I heard your joy. Your comfort with life’s journey. The beauty of you gave peace to the day.
This evening I heard your words. Your stories. Your dreams. Excitement for things lived. Hope for what is to come. The language of your heart was a song to mine. You spoke inspiration into that moment.
In the stillness of night, I listened to the sound of your sleep. Rhythmic. Soft. Peaceful. I touched your skin. Felt the rise and fall of your chest. Breath of life. In your rest, you whispered magic into the universe.
I am a Registered Nurse and have been in healthcare for over 25 years. The way we deliver healthcare has changed a lot over my career. It seems like we transform our work environment daily to meet the needs of our patients, governing agencies and our associates. While the work we do is hard, I have always counted a privilege to be a nurse. I am currently enrolled in my Doctorate of Nursing Practice studies at University of Texas Arlington. While my role in nursing has moved from the bedside to the boardrooms, I am committed to doing all I can to elevate the profession of nursing to the highest level. Nursing is dynamic, innovative, evidence-based and patient focused. We strive for the best and push ourselves to care for those that entrust us with their health. Nursing roles are changing and diverse. We now see nurses making an impact across multitudes of disciplines, such as the healthcare, education, political and science platforms.
